About

LauraSeveral years ago, my firstborn started kindergarten. Here in Maryland, that’s a full day affair, and I found myself with six whole hours to myself. I took myself over to my local yarn shop, purchased yarn and needles, and asked the nice ladies there to show me how to use them. They did, and I went home and knit a scarf. It was full of errors, and the alpaca yarn I chose turned out to be so itchy that I’ve only worn it a couple of times. But I was hooked.

Then I discovered Ravelry. And KnittingHelp.com. And realized that there was a whole world out there that I knew nothing about. I threw myself into learning as much about knitting as I possibly could. I learned to knit scarves and socks, sweaters and hats, cables and lace. The more I learn, the more I realize there is to learn. I thought knitting would be a pasttime, but it’s turned into a way of life!
